Feedback loops are increasingly being used to promote equity among low-income populations by informing program improvements and shifting power dynamics. This demonstration will illustrate how Just A Start, a community development corporation that builds and owns affordable housing in Cambridge, MA, engages residents and staff throughout the feedback loop process to increase trust, belonging, agency, and ownership over change. Just A Start intentionally co-designs the process with Resident Advisory Boards to ensure buy-in and response rates. Sensemaking sessions are facilitated with residents to help interpret the data and ensure appropriate plans are created to address the needs. This has led to feelings of empowerment and guided important strategic direction throughout the agency. This demonstration will offer practical ways to intentionally design feedback loop processes and create a culture that infuses equity while reflecting on organizational practices with those who are most affected by the decisions.
