Research can lead to a range of beneficial impacts on public health. The translational science benefits model (TSBM) offers a framework for outlining and defining various potential benefits of research. This poster will present our efforts to collaboratively identify potential strategies for integrating the TSBM and impact planning into our CTSA programs’ investigator resources and training initiatives. In this quality improvement effort, we conducted semi-structured interviews with a diverse subset of investigators whose research is currently or was previously supported by our program. We analyzed interview transcripts to identify current conceptualizations of research impact, opinions on the clarity and utility of a TSBM self-report survey, and ideas for generating or improving impact-related resources and training opportunities provided by our CTSA program. Ultimately, identifying the resources and support that investigators need in order to conduct long-term impact planning will facilitate the generation of more impactful science.
