Wednesday, November 12, 2025
5:30 PM - 7:00 PM CST
The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) Opioid Settlements Technical Assistance Team (OSTAT) supports local governments in utilizing opioid settlement funds to maximize resources and impact through technical assistance, outreach and training, and collaboration. To increase the capacity of local governments in using opioid settlement funding within NC, OSTAT has developed case studies that demonstrate effective program models. Interviews with local governments that have planned and/or implemented high impact opioid abatement strategies and information from submitted annual reports have informed the development of the case studies. In this session, we propose to share the methods that were taken to develop case studies, including the process of selecting local governments to highlight, interviewing local governments, rapid qualitative analysis of interviews, utilizing other resources to demonstrate best practices within the case studies, and the importance of including people with lived experience in all aspects of investing opioid settlement funds.
