This paper seeks to examine the following questions: (1) What value is placed on indigenous climate information services (indigenous knowledge systems) by the organisations implementing interventions of modern climate scientific information services in Southern Africa? (2) How are modern climate information services programme design factor in indigenous climate information services? (3) How are evaluations of climate information services interventions capturing the juxtaposition of modern and indigenous climate information services? (4) What role does the indigenous climate knowledge system play in making climate adaptation decisions? The chapter will use a critical realist approach to synthesize evaluations of climate information services implemented in Southern Africa. The chapter will also provide recommendations on how to integrate indigenous knowledge into climate change adaptation decision-making.
