Introducing a Youth Evaluator Role to Tims Camps: Discussing Benefits, Challenges, and Sharing the Youth's Experience

Are you looking to incorporate greater youth voice in evaluation? In this session, a representative and the Youth Evaluator from Tim Hortons Foundation Camps (Tims Camps) will share the benefits and challenges of introducing a Youth Evaluator role into the organization. The Tims Camps representative will detail the process of advocating for the inclusion of youth voice to the broader organization, reflecting on the organization’s commitment to the Youth in Evaluation Manifesto and status related to the Manifesto standards, and launch and execution of the Youth Evaluator role. A focus will be on challenges faced, how they were overcome, and advice for organizations focused on prioritizing youth voice in evaluation. The Youth Evaluator themself, a former program participant, will share about the experience of working for the organization, specifically why they chose to do so, the skills they gained, and the challenges they faced.
