Leadership in the five AEA domains: A community discussion to share, develop, and enact servant leadership for better evaluation practices

Calling all attendees who want to discuss leadership in evaluation teams. We would like to foster a conversation with seasoned evaluators to openly discuss needs, skills, and future directions for leadership in evaluation practice. We anticipate this session, situated in the Leadership and Organizational Performance TIG, as a space for seasoned evaluators to consider their personal leadership style, gain familiarity with tenets of servant leadership, and engage in thoughtful conversation with fellow evaluators. The session will provide tools to encourage constant reflection and growth on one’s leadership journey. In addition, new materials will be generated from the discussion and will be shared with attendees post-session. By framing leadership as a critical component of evaluation practice and situating it within the AEA Evaluator Competencies, we call for increased attention to leadership development to advance professionalism within the field of evaluation.
