The Summit County Offender Recidivism Reduction (SCORR) Program exemplifies a community-engaged, leadership-sharing approach to reducing recidivism among high-risk offenders. This evaluation explores how SCORR’s comprehensive support system, funded by the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Swift, Certain, and Fair (SCF) Supervision Program, integrates community resources and focuses on personal accountability to foster long-term behavioral change. Utilizing a mixed methods empirically supported approach, this program and evaluation integrates risk assessments, intake surveys, and exit interviews, findings indicate significant reductions in risk scores and positive shifts in participants' future outlook. Notably, the program ensures equitable impact, with no significant differences in initial risk levels between graduates and non-graduates. The SCORR model highlights the value of collaborative leadership, promoting sustained rehabilitation and community reintegration. This session will explore the program’s strategies, data-driven results, the transformative potential of community engagement in offender rehabilitation, and the cost/benefit of the programming.
