When institutions and systems undergo rapid change, the public data that evaluators rely on can become vulnerable in the absence of clear, effective safeguards. This panel examines how organizations are working together to meaningfully protect essential federal data and create reliable channels for documenting changes that affect evidence, evaluation, statistics, and the broader data ecosystem. Speakers from the Data Foundation's Center for Evidence Capacity, along with other advocacy partners, will share practical approaches for: creating protected feedback systems, amplifying community voices, and balancing institutional constraints with community needs. Through discussion and audience participation, this session offers evaluators concrete tools for maintaining standards of data quality, transparency, and accountability while navigating changing public priorities.
