Decolonizing Evaluation: Using an Equitable Evaluation Toolkit to Conduct Wide-Ranging Evaluations that Center BIPOC Needs and Voices
Thursday, November 13, 2025
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM CST
In this session, Ecotrust, a mid-sized environmental- and equity-centered nonprofit based in Portland, OR, will share their Equitable Evaluation Toolkit, an in-house evaluation approach developed to center the priorities, goals, and aspirations of partners and program beneficiaries in impact measurement, with a focus on social and racial equity. Ecotrust’s Measurement and Evaluation Team developed the Toolkit in 2023; presented it at a successful webinar in April 2024; and published it on the web in September 2024. Since publishing the Toolkit, the team has used it successfully in multiple programs in which Ecotrust is involved as a partner. The presenters will share success stories from three different programs where they have applied this toolkit: a Community of Practice for Indigenous agroforestry, technical assistance for BIPOC-led urban agriculture, and a culturally responsive workforce development program. Audiences will come away with access to the Toolkit to support their journey to implement equitable evaluations. Click to fill survey.
