Engaging Community in Concepts of Program Fidelity and Implementation Evaluation

This panel will bring together three perspectives from the FIRST LEGO League program to share and discuss a strategy for deepening understanding of a program across sites: site profiles. When evaluating multi-site programs that include different organizations in different settings, understanding implementation and gauging fidelity can be a challenge. While program models are valuable tools for defining and assessing established elements of fidelity, they risk missing critical elements of context. Site profiles expand upon the program model concept by acknowledging and valuing the organizational expertise, local culture and context, and needs and values of each site and its constituents. This panel will include a program manager, internal evaluation, and external evaluator to discuss how site profiles were an effective tool for engaging participants across sites in informing the evaluation and understanding findings. Presentations will include voices of international program partners to share how site profiles were used locally.
