11:30 AM - 12:30 PM CST
In the digital age, we all rely on technology to connect us to information, data, and community. From simple websites to artificial intelligence (AI), evaluators are uniquely positioned to engage community and share leadership to assess and recommend improvements to technology, ensuring equitable access and outcomes for all. In this session, participants will learn how to integrate user experience (UX) research methods into collaborative evaluation design. We will explore innovative techniques used to evaluate the Colorado Equity Compass (CEC), a platform that offers local health equity data, stories, and resources to empower communities. Collaborative evaluation and cognitive interviewing techniques were integrated with usability testing, a type of UX research that evaluates a user’s experience when interacting with a website or app. By combining these approaches, we aimed to enhance the usability and effectiveness of the platform, ensuring it meets the needs of diverse users and facilitates community advocacy.
