8:30 AM - 9:30 AM CST
The RI Health Equity Zone (HEZ) Training and Technical Assistance Program (TTAP) supports development of community capacity to address health equity by promoting shared leadership, meaningful engagement, collective impact, and shared practices to address the underlying factors that impact health outcomes. Evaluation is focused on the impact of TTAP on the community capacity and empowerment to address the critical health issues in each community. Solving problems entrenched in systems requires a greater focus on transformative learning, which entails interacting with knowledge to challenge previously held assumptions and create new meaning. Essential to transformative learning are elements of proximity in which there is trust, respect, and recognition and honor of the different voices of members, highlighting the importance of learner dialogue with diverse perspectives and critical reflection as essential outcomes specific to transformative learning. This session details HEZ TTAP evaluation practice and its impact on building equity in Rhode Island. Click to fill survey.
