We examine what it means to “share the leadership” of an evaluation and present evidence that it can transform the use and influence of evaluative findings. We begin by tracing how the concept of “use” has evolved over time. Then we present research that describes how evaluation managers, evaluators, and interest holders share leadership. We conclude by connecting these two strands, presenting evidence that evaluation management practices can affect use and influence in fundamental ways. Throughout the session, panelists will engage each other and participants in lively discussion and debate, reserving ample time for questions. Participants will leave with a more nuanced understanding of how sharing power is both a moral and practical imperative. Click to fill survey.
