Interest in AI and evaluation has surged in recent years, reflected in standing-room-only AEA presidential strand sessions, the AI and Evaluation eStudy, the launch of an AI and Evaluation LinkedIn page, and the publication of a dedicated New Directions for Evaluation volume. This session builds on that momentum, responding to the growing demand for knowledge in this rapidly evolving field. This session will explore AI’s role as a thought partner, bridge builder, and tool for enhancing community engagement. It will highlight practical applications of AI in evaluation, including: 1. Precision prompting for document and image generation 2. Review of generative AI tools that have high utility for evaluation 3. Developing logic models and theories of change 4. Creating interview and survey questions 5. Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data 6. Designing custom AI evaluation tools. Click to fill survey.
