158: Engaging Communities to Address Girls' Discrimination in Fishing Communities Around Lake Victoria, (Ukala) Tanzania: A Collaborative Approach to Empowerment and Change

Gender descrimination continues to hinder  the empowerment of girls in rural fishing communities around lake victoria (Ukala)Tanzania this session present a participatory community led initiative aimed at addressing entrenched gender bias that restric girls access to education,economic participation and leadership .through the use of participatory action research (PAR) the project engage local women girls and other stake holders to identifie the root causes og gender inequality  and co create sustainable culturally relevant solutionsthe presentation will highlight key finds ,community driven strategies and transformative impact of shared leadership in promoting gender equity and long term social change.
