Dr. Hanh Cao Yu, as the Executive Director of the Center for Evaluation Innovation (CEI), currently spearheads efforts to equip philanthropy with the resources to utilize learning, evaluation, and strategy for advancing racial justice and an equitable future. In her previous role as Chief Learning Officer at The California Endowment, she oversaw the 10-year Building Healthy Communities initiative focused on health and racial equity and
community-driven power building. Dr. Yu’s extensive three-decade career and expertise in equitable evaluation and board/ambassador leadership with organizations like Grantmakers for Effective Organizations, National Academy of Science Roundtable on Population Health, and the Trust-based Philanthropy Project have deepened her commitment to supporting philanthropic organizations shift power to historically marginalized communities. She is an AEA award recipient of the 2024 Outstanding Evaluation Award.
