As evaluation practices change due to fast digital advancements, recent literature highlights the important role of emerging evaluators in creating more inclusive and technology-focused approaches. Studies show that digital tools, such as learning management systems and generative AI, are reshaping early-career evaluators' skills, leadership potential, and community engagement abilities. However, gaps still exist in digital access, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing across various contexts. This literature review synthesizes findings on how prepared emerging evaluators are, their challenges, and their contributions to digital spaces. Consequently, it highlights opportunities for shared leadership, especially in using digital tools to improve collaborative evaluation design and amplify community voices. Moving to the core of this discussion, the review positions emerging evaluators as crucial players in transforming evaluation practices, where digital fluency, inclusive leadership, and community engagement come together to promote equity and foster innovation in the field.
