The University of South Carolina’s (USC) Faculty Initiative for Improved Recruitment, Retention, and Experience (FIIRRE) program aims to foster sustainable institutional culture change and enhance faculty experiences through evidence-based practices, particularly for minoritized faculty. In this presentation, USC’s FIIRRE evaluation team will share insights from two instruments designed to gather real-time faculty feedback---the Pulse survey and the Organizational Leadership Change survey. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how these instruments inform leadership about immediate challenges that can be resolved quickly as well as system-level strategies to create long-term positive changes in culture and climate. The presenters will demonstrate not only how these tools can be adapted and replicated to improve culture change in higher education but also address how use of these tools attend to key commitments and expectations associated with popular evaluation frameworks.
