6: Better Together: Leveraging the AEA Competencies and Guiding Principles to Support Internal Evaluation Team Alignment and Professional Development
Friday, November 14, 2025
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM CST
The AEA Guiding Principles and Evaluator Competencies have been utilized across a wide range of contexts and scenarios to enrich the professional practices of the field; however, examples of their use to date to support team alignment and professional development appear scarce, limiting our ability to fully leverage the potential of these guiding documents. In this Birds of a Feather session, we hope to open a conversation regarding how the Guiding Principles and Competencies have been used for team development, including an example of a months-long process of reflection, group discussion, synthesis, and focused realignment undertaken by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance’s Market Research and Evaluation team. If you have been involved in similar processes, are planning to engage do so in the future, or are simply interested in joining the conversation and learning together, we welcome you to join us and bring your questions, thoughts, and experiences!
