Interactive Methods for Evaluating Power and Decision-making in Intergenerational Organizations
Thursday, November 13, 2025
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM CST
Join this interactive session to explore two tools designed to evaluate inclusiveness, transparency, and fairness in group decision-making and communication. One tool focuses on organizational structure, while the other examines decision-making processes. Participants will choose one tool to apply during the session, reflecting on either their own organization or one they know well. These tools surface explicit and implicit power dynamics, highlighting how privilege and disadvantage intersect across demographics like gender, age, and ability. The session concludes with a gallery walk where participants can share and discuss their insights. Everyone will leave with step-by-step instructions to apply these methods in their own organizations. Grounded in the work of the Article 15 Project—a global partnership supporting children’s right to self-organize—these methods are equally relevant to adult organizations seeking to foster more democratic and participatory practices.
