Testing the Waters: Getting Comfortable with AI Use in Evaluation

With the vast expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) tools available to the public, evaluators have an opportunity to incorporate new tools into practice to both enhance and expedite daily activities. In this session, we will discuss considerations for incorporating AI into both internal and client-facing work. Topics will include: where to start to incorporate AI tools or solutions; the use of closed vs. open AI systems (including use of data to train AI models); the need and place for human validation; and strategies for securing buy-in from clients and partners with the use of AI in evaluation. Through facilitated discussion of these and other topics alongside real-world examples, we will identify new and innovative opportunities for attendees to consider AI in their work and facilitate collaboration on practical solutions for attendees’ challenges and questions around AI.
