From Reactive to Proactive: How “Stand-by” Evaluators Can Enhance Organizational Learning and Adaptability
Friday, November 14, 2025
9:45 AM - 10:45 AM CST
Engaging a stand-by or emergent evaluation partner can help organizations meet shorter term, or unanticipated, or ad hoc needs and support organizational learning. Commissioning an external evaluation includes extensive work that can take months. While this process is critical for robust evaluations, additional ad-hoc evaluation and learning needs emerge regularly. Emergent or “stand-by” evaluators are well suited to meet these ad hoc evaluation needs efficiently. This panel will share two case studies of organizations who have successfully engaged emergent evaluators. Panelists from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Kaiser Permanente Community Health, and the Center for Community Health and Evaluation will reflect on their experiences with emergent evaluation support, including benefits, challenges, and lessons learned. Participants will share their experiences and discuss this model with the panel. Click to fill survey.
